Department of Printing Technology is one of the premier department in the field of Technology in India. It was established in the year 1996 with a motive to impart high quality teaching & practical exposure to the prospective students. Printing Technology is a matured field, where as Packaging Technology is relatively a new concept and it is growing at 35% per annum in India, it is also projected to grow even more in coming years. State of art facilities are created in the department to provide complete practical exposure to the students along with summer trainings, industrial visits, live project work, seminar, workshops, conferences expert lectures are conducted at a regular interval of time. Placement of the students is one of the major plus point of the department and continuous efforts are carried out so that each students gets proper care and attention during the study tenure and even after completion of the course also.
The Department of Printing Technology has State-of-art technical equipments, machineries and other facilities for imparting professional training. The department has procured 4-colour Flexographic printing machine, 4-Colour Gravure printing machine, 4-HI Web Offset printing machine and Sheetfed offset printing machine. The Department of Printing Technology is also a participant in Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) of World Bank and has been sanctioned a grant of 2.15 corers for the development of different labs of the department to achieve the excellence in printing & allied fields.
The Printing Technology department has a well stocked library, well equipped computer lab and a wide array of printing workshops. Diligent faculty members and technical staff impart technical know-how and training using these facilities. The department also invites guest faculties from the industry to give the exposure to the students about the latest trends.
The Department follows all India level standard selection procedure. Development of personality and student as a whole is the central idea to keep in mind, while teaching. This environment enables the students to augment their communication skills, confidence level and again insight into different fields of printing & packaging technology. Department also has a consultancy cell which provides consultancy to educational and industrial organizations.

Department of Printing Technology, Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar was established in the year 1996 with a motive to prepare and produce high quality Printing Technologist to fulfill the ever increasing needs and demands of printing and allied organization in India. It is the first ever department/institute in the whole Northern India to start B. Tech. programme in Printing Technology. Continuous improvement are generally followed in terms of course curriculum, project formats, seminars, industrial training, placement activities & extra curricular activities, so as to enrich the course contents to match with the modern printing establishments.

The department is not only innovative in imparting technical knowledge to the students; it is innovative in initiating new courses which are job oriented and unique in the country.
The department has started M. Tech. (Print & Graphic Communication) in 2006 with the intake of 20 seats first time in India. Now due to high demand in this field seats are increased upto 30 seats from 2011.

An understanding has been developed with the Print Media Academy, Heidelberge regarding providing training to the students and teachers of the department in Germany with financial assistance/sponsorship by Print Media Academy Germany & India.
The department is sending one student of final year for 10 days training at Print Media Academy, Heidelberg, Germany under "Student Development Programme: of Print Media Academy, Heidelberg for the every year for the last 2 years Miss Neetu Goel and Miss Vasundhara Batra attended the programme in 2007 & 2008 respectively.
7. Foreign Training of Faculty.
Sh. A.K. Baral, Sh. A. Pandey & Sh. Pankaj Kumar have attended various training at U.K., U.S.A. and Germany.
8. World Bank Assistance:
Our department is one of the participating departments of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) of World Bank. The department has been allocated huge grant for the purchase of machinery and academic excellence under which all the teachers of the department are allowed by the department has already sent three teachers Sh. Ambrish Pandey, Sh. Pankaj Kumar at Sanden North America Inc., Lenexa, Kansas USA for one week and Sh. Anjan Kumar Baral for 15 days training at Glasgow Metropolitan College, Glasgow, Scottland, UK.
